Die doel van hierdie studie was om die doeltreffendheid op die veld te evalueer van ‘n ultraviolet C (UVC) liguitstralende toestel in die vermindering van omgewingsbakteri\u00eble las en die teenwoordigheid van patogene in vergelyking met die huidige standaard bedryfsprotokol (SOP).<\/p>\n

Hospitale wat UV-ligontsmetting na skoonmaak- en ontsmettingsprosedures gebruik, het infeksierisiko’s wat met omgewingsgemedieerde oordragroetes geassosieer word, aansienlik verminder.<\/p>\n

Die PX-UVC-toestel (Xenex Disinfection Services, San Antonio, TX VSA) gebruik ‘n xenon-flitslamp om ho\u00eb-energie, bre\u00ebspektrum ultraviolet en sigbare lig (UVC 100\u2013280 nm, sigbaar 380\u2013700 nm) in mikrosekonde-uitbarstings (pulse) by 67 Hz te genereer. Geen aanraking UV-tegnologie is afhanklik van die afstand tussen die lamp en die oppervlak wat ontsmet word. Die omgekeerde kwadraatwet bepaal dat die verdubbeling van die afstand tussen die lamp en die oppervlak wat ontsmet word, die tyd wat nodig is vir ontsmetting verviervoudig.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die PX-UVC-toestel gebruik 5-minuut ontsmettingsiklusse en verskeie posisies met minimale afstande van ho\u00eb-aanraking oppervlaktes. Die vervaardiger beveel aan dat ho\u00eb-aanraking oppervlakke binne twee meter van die lamp moet wees om optimale doeltreffendheid te bereik.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vir pasi\u00ebntkamers vereis die toestel een 5-minuut ontsmettingsiklus aan elke kant van die pasi\u00ebntbed en een siklus in die privaat badkamer (indien van toepassing). Vir operasiesale benodig die toestel een 10-minuut ontsmettingsiklus aan elke kant van die operasiebed. As gevolg van die ho\u00eb-intensiteit bre\u00ebspektrum UV-lig, word die toestel in onbesette kamers bedryf. <\/p>\n

Die eksposisietyd het gewissel van 14 minute by 46 000 \u03bcWs\/cm2 tot 57 minute by 22 000 \u03bcWs\/cm2 vir die sporicidale siklus.<\/p>\n
